Firewood

Firewood quantities are approximate and delivered in loose cords dumped onsite at your delivery location. We deliver 180 cubic feet of loose wood for each cord ordered and 90 cubic feet for ½ cord orders. A loosely stacked cord of wood is 128 cubic feet.

Starting the
Perfect Fire

Make sure you are building your fire in a safe place. A fire pit away from trees and bushes or a fireplace with a good grate, a screen that will keep sparks from flying out, and a working flue that you can open up to let smoke escape.

You will need small twigs or wood scraps (kindling) and crumbled newspaper. Stack the kindling around the newspaper and light newspaper. Add more kindling as necessary to grow fire. We recommend you purchase a product called Fatwood starters. They can be purchased at any Plow & Hearth or Amazon.

Once you have a small fire burning steadily, you can start adding your bigger logs.
